The Institute of Governance Reform has published a Report which indicates that after government spent over $25 on the last parliament, only 22% of MPs returned to parliament in 2018.
The Stats highlights that more APC members of parliament were retained than SLPP MPs.
The Report explains that high MP turnover adds more MP pensioners on Government of Sierra Leone (GoSL) after every election.

The Report also points out that many new and low literate MPs cannot effective manage parliamentary committees or scrutinize the complex public policies in parliament.
The question now become given the stats on retaining MPs in the Well of Parliament, who shall be retained in the next Parliament?
It’s also asked whether the high MP turnover is good for our democracy and our weak economy.
