The National Sports Authority (NSA) has announce to the public, particularly the football community, that the Government of the Republic of Sierra Leone, through the Ministry of Finance, on Friday 19th April, 2024 disbursed NLE 2,912,000 (Two Million, Nine Hundred and Twelve Thousand New Leones) to the Sierra Leone Male Premier League Board for 2023/2024 season.

According to NSA, the funding represents the Government’s ongoing commitment to financially supporting the national top-tier football league in the country.

Meanwhile, since assuming power in 2018, the current Government has consistently provided substantial financial backing to the Sierra Leone Premier Leagues through their respective boards, ensuring the smooth operation of the leagues. This support has been instrumental in facilitating the organization of competitive and uninterrupted national elite football leagues each year.

The National Sports Authority appreciates Government of Sierra Leone for its support to sports development in the country. The NSA reaffirms its dedication to upholding transparency and accountability in advancing sports in Sierra Leone, ensuring that the nation’s sporting endeavors progress positively at all times.
