The Ministry of Lands, Housing, and Country Planning has issued a public directive requiring all occupants of the Bellair Park Reservation in Freetown to submit their land ownership documents by August 30, 2024.

In a statement released today, the Ministry emphasized that all ongoing construction within the Bellair Park area must be immediately suspended.

This decision comes as the government seeks to verify land ownership claims in the area. The notice specifies that occupants must present their documents to the Office of the Permanent Secretary by the stated deadline.

Failure to comply with this directive may result in further government action as authorities review the legitimacy of land claims within Bellair Park.

The Ministry has made it clear that construction activities cannot resume until the government has made a final decision based on the documents submitted by claimants.
