During a town hall engagement, the Government of Sierra Leone announced the establishment of a Presidential Task Force to combat Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) across the country.
The Task Force, set up by President Julius Maada Bio in collaboration with the Ministry of Gender and Children Affairs and various non-governmental organizations, aims to address SGBV issues nationwide.
Additionally, the government has established one-stop centers in major hospitals for SGBV cases and provided a free hotline (116) for accessing these services
