As this announcement is made, citizens are reminded to plan accordingly and observe the public holiday in honor of Sierra Leone’s independence.

Take away the checkpoint with security personnels with guns, as if it is war time.
Sierra Leoneans, we are a peaceful nation, it is the administration that brought unprecedented violence to our streets.
