The Management of Guma Valley Water Company, in a press release, announced the cut-down of water supply in Freetown on the 20th of September 2023 for 9 hours around the hours of 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
They said that the cut-down will happen due to faults on the 28-inch and 22 inches of transmission pipelines at Mambo and Pogodon, Hamilton.
Moving on in the release, they explained the rationale behind the shutdown which they said is to facilitate repairs on both pipelines.
In the end, they apologized to the public for any inconvenience caused by the interruption in service.
