Dr. Haja Abibatu Jalloh is now Sierra Leone’s first female Specialist Psychiatrist, marking a huge steps forward in mental health treatment and women’s medical advancements.

Dr. Jalloh’s career started in Bo, attending Ahmadiyya Secondary School. She was known for her academic prowess and graduated as one of the top students, gaining admission into the Sierra Leone University of College of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences (COMAHS).

She continued to stand out at the university, graduating in 2018 as one of the top students in her class. Her psychiatric expertise was made possible through a scholarship funded by the Sierra Leone government and a non-governmental organization. She has successfully completed her specialty.

Dr. Jalloh is known to be an humble and modest woman despite her achievements. She is said to be a person well known for her quiet demeanor and prefers to keep a low media profile.
