The Sierra Leone Police through the Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) John Martin Senesie (PhD), Director of Operations, has affirmed the sustained enforcement of “Operation Call to Order” across the Western Area.

ACP Senesie made this commitment during a press conference held at the Sierra Leone Police Headquarters in Freetown while speaking on recent sightings of heavily armed police patrols in Freetown which has sparked speculation among citizens.

He underscored the operation’s primary goal of enhancing national security and restoring public confidence. “To bolster security nationwide, we initiated operational measures aimed at fostering orderliness and safeguarding our citizens.”

Highlighting ongoing efforts, Senesie emphasized the continuation of robust night patrols throughout the Western Area. “We are committed to maintaining this operation without compromise. Any notion of its cessation is unfounded,” he affirmed.

Furthermore, Senesie introduced “Operation No Turning Back,” aimed at tightening border controls to curb the illicit export of foodstuffs to Guinea. He attributed cross-border trade as a factor contributing to rising food prices within Sierra Leonean markets.

Addressing another critical aspect of their operations, ACP Senesie noted the intensified crackdown on illegal drug trafficking, particularly targeting kush. He commended community support in providing vital intelligence, essential for the success of these efforts.

He said the fight against kush requires collective action acknowledging community initiatives crucial to combatting drug peddling effectively.

As the Sierra Leone Police persists in maintaining law and order, ACP Senesie urged continued cooperation from all sectors of society in achieving lasting peace and security.
