The Minister of Agriculture and Food Security (MAFS), Henry Musa Kpaka, has announced the launch of a new radio station dedicated to serving rural farmers across Sierra Leone.

The station, named Rural Farmers Radio, will broadcast on the frequency 98.9 FM and aims to be the largest traditional media outlet for agricultural information in Sierra Leone.

In a statement released to its partners, MAFS expressed its excitement about the initiative, which is part of the broader Feed Salone initiative aimed at enhancing agricultural production and productivity among farmers.

The ministry emphasized its commitment to educating partners and stakeholders in the agricultural sector through this new platform.

MAFS extended its gratitude to the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and Africell Sierra Leone for their support in making the project a reality.

Testing transmissions are currently underway, and the ministry encourages all stakeholders to tune in for updates and educational content tailored to the needs of rural farmers.
