The only truthful and correct way to unite this Ummah is through knowledge of the Quran and Sunnah and its implementation through following the Salaf (predecessors) not as we think it should be or what our parents or unknowledgeable elders say.

We allow simple issues to divide us, unfortunately. We all know today is the 30th day of Ramadan meaning we were expecting to sight the Shawwal moon last night based on the commands of the Messenger of Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam.

The fact is that the moon was not sighted and authenticated anywhere so we all unite to offer our Eid prayers tomorrow Monday in shaa ALLAH. Those who started fasting on Sunday will then have to end tonight to complete 29 days for those of us who started on Saturday to have fasted for 30 days then we all pray on Monday as a united Ummah but unfortunately some imams may have already announced Tuesday as Eid to disunite us why?.

This is very simple information any Islamic Imam or leader should say without confirming any other day as Eid to disunite us, that’s wrong and action based on acting to please others not for ALLAH sake or for unity sake. But I humbly request that we follow our local imams on this issue in particular to avoid division which is worse than following them to pray on Monday or Tuesday as both days may be correct as a favour from ALLAH so let’s not fight on this issue.

Whenever two people meet on a train or bus after a football match and notice they both support great teams like my Arsenal they suddenly become very close friends so why can’t we be so united with ALLAH as our LORD, Islam as our Team and our beloved Messenger of ALLAH as our Leader? Why? Fasting continues today and Eid tomorrow in shaaALLAH. Eid Mubarak in advance.

We should improve the culture of togetherness by praying together, spreading greetings, wishing good for one another, and visiting if possible.

May ALLAH keep guiding us all and unite us under Laailaaha illalLah Muhammadur RasuululLah sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam_*. Aameen.
