Sierra Leonean singer Leonard Francis MassaquoiI, stage named as I- tribe has on a Facebook live spilled the beans over controversies with Kabaka and ECOFEST.
The artist previously said that he would not be performing at the recently finished ECO FEST festival, despite the fact that his face could be seen on all of the festival’s billboards, and he also discouraged his fans from going to the show.
I-Tribe was heavily bashed at by many Sierra Leoneans who thought his decision hindered the successfulness of the show. On another post lately responding to a bash, saying “The worst crime to commit in Sierra Leone, is to know your worth because you only worth what you know.”
With the controversies surrounding the saga with less for the media to understand the truth behind the scene between The Kababa and I-Tribe took to his live and spilled all the beans on the floor.
I-Tribe disclosed he was at London on his tour when he got a call from Kabaka about the show and due to the bond they shared, both came to an agreement of Nle15,000 (which is equivalent to 15,000,000 old Leones).
When he returned from The UK he called Kabaka as per plan and they had an agreement to talk the following day. I-Tribe continued that it took 3 days he didn’t get Kabaka’s reply and that he had countlessly hit Kabaka over the said show which he disclosed he shouldn’t have done but did because of what they shared.
He continued that while he was put in hold for weeks, The Kabaka was attending to other acts within Sierra Leone and Internationally. This he alleged he understood his busy schedules. He continued that he was ignored by Kabaka despite his effort to reach him severely. This I-Tribe alleged could have been because of the relationship they had that prompted Kabaka to take that relationship for granted and ignored the contract.
I-Tribe who is known for his music act affirmed that they had a deal of Nle50,000 with Kabaka which should have been paid before he hit the stage but as a result of breach of contract that was why he distanced himself from the show at the eleventh hour.
Vexing anger to Kabaka over what have transpired between them wasn’t worthy to have brought to his live disclosed that he has been performing freely for Kabaka over the years while in KME. The other irrelevant events he brought forth were not for him, and concluded that Music is what took care of his bills and added that when he makes a contract he always abides by it.
I-Tribe on his concluding statements disclosed that he had over the years performed for Kabaka and mostly hardly received his balance payment. For this year ECOFEST, he alleged to have received $400 at 11:00 after chasing him for a week. He concluded that his relationship to Kabaka on any other entertainment manager should not be taken for granted when a contract is sealed.
