On April 17, 2024, the Minister of Information and Civic Education, Chernor A. Bah, initiated bilateral discussions with Dr. Stefan Friedrich, Head of the Department for Sub-Saharan Africa of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation in Germany.
The aim was to bolster cooperation and exchanges focused on advancing civic education in Sierra Leone.
This engagement unfolded during the Berlin Moot 2024, held from April 17th to 18th at the Humboldt Forum in Berlin, Germany. The prestigious event, themed “Reshaping the Peace,” convened global policymakers, experts, and peace practitioners to explore innovative strategies for peacemaking amidst escalating conflicts worldwide.
Minister Bah, a distinguished participant at the forum, shared insights garnered from Sierra Leone’s experience, particularly highlighting the establishment of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission.
He emphasized its role in fostering good governance institutions to enhance socio-economic stability within the country. Additionally, Minister Bah conveyed President Julius Maada Bio’s unwavering commitment to spearheading peace initiatives both domestically and on the global stage.
Accompanied by Abubakarr Joe Sesay, Head of Outreach at the Ministry of Information and Civic Education, Minister Bah contributed valuable perspectives on addressing the evolving complexities of war and conflict.
