The Minister of Internal Affairs, Retired Assistant Inspector General of Police Morie Lengor Esq., has met with Madam Kadiatu Susan Thoronka, a victim of a kidnapping incident that occurred on 25 December 2025.

According to official information, Madam Thoronka was abducted while boarding a taxi from the Eastern Police area in Freetown en route to Waterloo. The incident has raised public concern amid growing attention to issues of public safety and criminal activity.

During the meeting, Minister Lengor assured the victim that the matter would be thoroughly investigated and that efforts would be made to identify and prosecute those responsible. He emphasized the government’s commitment to ensuring justice through due process and strengthening public confidence in law enforcement.

The minister also stated that he would engage the leadership of the Sierra Leone Police (SLP) to intensify measures aimed at preventing kidnapping and related crimes.

These measures, he said, would focus on improved intelligence gathering, stronger community participation, and effective enforcement of the law.

While no further details were provided regarding arrests or ongoing operations, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reiterated its position that kidnapping and other violent crimes pose a serious threat to national security and public safety.
