The Vice President of Sierra Leone, Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh has on Tuesday 24 May 2022 deliberate on the opportunities and nemesis of the digital revolution.

The Vice President made this statement in his address on the opening of the Judicial Training on Cybercrime and Electronic Evidence at the Radisson Blu Mammy Yoko Hotel in Freetown.

He told participants that Cyberspace and new technologies create new ways of thinking that defined novel realities and relationships.

According to VP Juldeh Jalloh, these new opportunities comes with immense responsibilities to ensure that the cyber space is not abused and used to trample on the rights of others or threaten social peace and institutional safety.

It is in light of this that Government enacted the Cyber Security and Crime Act in 2021 with the objective to fight cyber crime and provide a safer cyber space for citizens.

The VP used the occasion to thank the Judiciary for the initiative to undertake a training on the Act. He called on them to build a solid legal knowledge on cyber security and cyber crime.
