Sierra Leonean Journalist, Amadu Lamrana Bah have asked the Sierra Leone State House to give a statement on the whereabouts of President Maada Bio. 

Bio had departed Sierra Leone on Sunday 25th July, 2021 for London, United Kingdom to attend the Global Education Summit held between 28th – 29th July 2021.

The President was accompanied by the First Lady, Madam Fatima Maada Bio.

However, two weeks later after the summit ended, President Bio is yet to return to the shores of Sierra Leone.

Members of the opposition have accused the President of pilling up hotel bills and shopping in London at the expense of tax payers money. But the State House is yet to make a statement on the President’s whereabout.

In a post on Tuesday, the Journalist wrote;

“It is now over 2 weeks since President Bio left for the UK.

“We were told by Press Secretary Yusuf Keketoma Sandi that he was going to attend the Global Education Summit scheduled for the 28th – 29th July 2021.

“The conference has ended and I have been asking about the presidency but not getting answers.

“State House Sierra Leone is the President still in the UK? Is he still on a working visit or a vacation? When is the President returning?

“Someone should speak to us, please.”
