A recent tweet from the Judiciary of Sierra Leone has revealed that 38 Judges and 34 Magistrates have endorsed the newly appointed Chief Justice, Honourable Nicholas Colin Browne -Marke.
The tweet further revealed that some of the judges said the move is to restore the dignity of the Judiciary
Browne Marke succeeds Honourable Babatunde Edwards as Chief Justice in a letter dated 7th December, 2023 from the office of the President. Hon Justice Nicholas Browne-Marke was appointed to act as Chief Justice in the absence of the Hon. Chief Justice Babatunde Edwards.
The letter from the office of the president further confirms that it pleases the president to appoint him as Chief Justice of the Republic of Sierra Leone, in an acting capacity.
