Sierra Leone’s Chief Justice, His Lordship Justice Komba Kamanda, has facilitated an international training program for three judicial officers to strengthen the country’s capacity in handling human trafficking and financial crime cases.
The participants include Justice Samuel O. Taylor (JA), Justice Abdul Sheriff (J), and Principal Magistrate Mustapha Braima Jah, who are currently attending a capacity-building seminar in Dakar, Senegal, from October 14th to 17th, 2025.
The seminar, organized by the Inter-Governmental Action Group Against Money Laundering in West Africa (GIABA), focuses on improving judicial coordination across African nations in tackling crimes that often cross borders.
Speaking on behalf of the team, Justice Samuel O. Taylor expressed appreciation to the Chief Justice for creating opportunities that strengthen the credibility and performance of the Judiciary.
Principal Magistrate Mustapha Braima Jah also commended Justice Kamanda’s leadership, noting that his emphasis on professional development continues to expose Sierra Leonean judges and magistrates to international best practices.
The training is expected to enhance collaboration among African judiciaries and promote a united front against human trafficking and financial crimes, which remain major challenges demanding international cooperation.
