Justice Hannah Bonnie of the High Court has given reasons for slamming an injunction on the All People’s Congress (APC) proposed convention this weekend in Makeni.
Justice Bonnie, yesterday, slammed an injunction on the main opposition APC party after a plaintiff filed an application to the court to restrain certain members within the party from contesting for any position.
Her decision is also hinged on the notion that the party cannot carry out their convention since a “pending hearing and determination of an application” was filed yesterday by a party member.
The said plaintiff prayed on the court to disallow members of the party that were found “culpable of dishonest nature” by the Commissions of Inquiry (COI) not to contest for any position.
The matter will come up again next week Thursday.
In other news, some political analysts predicted that the convention might not hold this weekend after some candidates decried an additional NLe 6,000 fee requested by the Secretary of the Interim Government and Transition Committee (IGTC), Abdul Kargbo.
Some public members are concerned that recent happenings might affect the performance of the APC party in the June 2023 elections.
