The appeal case of Mohamed Kamarainba Mansaray has been pushed to April 10, 2025, after a session on Thursday, March 6, 2025, before three judges at the Court of Appeal.

The panel, led by Justice John Bosco Alieu, along with Justices Momoh Jah Steven and Tonia Barnett, heard the appeal filed by Mansaray’s lawyers, challenging the ruling made by Justice Samuel Taylor.

During the hearing, Mansaray’s lawyer, Musa Pious Sesay, told the court that the person who promised to take responsibility for him, Madam Isha, was sick and currently out of the country. He showed a medical report, which was sent to him via WhatsApp, to explain her condition.

In response, State counsel Yusuf Isaac Sesay argued that the surety, Madam Isha, should come to court to explain why Mansaray wasn’t present and to let the court know if she could no longer stand in for him. He also said that if she couldn’t be the surety anymore, she should pay the amount stated in the bail bond.

Justice Alieu said the court needed to take time to review the file and understand how the bail was originally granted. As a result, the court issued a bench warrant for both Mansaray and his surety.

The case has now been rescheduled for April 10, 2025, for further proceedings.
