In a significant move to bolster security and road safety in Kambia District, newly transferred Local Unit Commander (LUC) Chief Superintendent Murana Eric Kamara convened a landmark meeting with the Motor Drivers and General Transport Union on Monday, October 14, 2024.
The meeting, hailed as a major step toward cooperation, was attended by drivers, vehicle owners, and senior police officers.
During the meeting, key issues were addressed, including crime reduction, road safety, monitoring of foreign nationals, and curbing illicit drug trafficking. Chief Superintendent Kamara urged drivers to adhere to traffic laws, license their vehicles, and remain vigilant in combating human trafficking and other criminal activities. He emphasized the crucial role of drivers in helping to maintain law and order across the district.
The involvement of Media Officer Claudius Moses Gray, who played a key role in promoting transparency and communication between the police and the public, was particularly praised by stakeholders. His efforts have been instrumental in fostering trust and dialogue between the authorities and the community.
