On Wednesday, July 26, 2023, Dr. Kandeh Yumkella, Chairman of the Presidential Initiative for Climate Change, Renewable Energy, and Food Security, initiated a series of courtesy calls to key ministries to establish a solid working relationship in pursuit of the President’s initiatives.

The first leg of the introductory visits saw Dr. Yumkella meeting with the Minister of Energy and the Minister of Environment and Climate Change. The primary objective of these visits was to foster collaboration and coordination between the initiative and various ministries, laying the groundwork for the successful implementation of the President’s ambitious projects.

In further efforts to build strong inter-ministerial partnerships, Dr. Yumkella also engaged with the newly appointed Minister of Agriculture, Forestry, and Food Security, and the Minister of Finance. The former Minister of Agriculture joined Dr. Yumkella at his private office complex, where they delved into discussions about the ongoing programs and activities of the Ministry. The exchange of institutional knowledge and insights is seen as vital for scaling up actions to achieve food security across the nation.
