The Electricity Distribution and Supply Authority (EDSA) has announced a temporary reduction in power generation due to a technical issue with the fuel pump on the Karpowership.
In a public notice issued on January 13th, EDSA stated that the ship will temporarily reduce its power output to 30MW while essential maintenance work is carried out. This reduction will inevitably impact the overall power availability for distribution within Freetown.
The Authority emphasized that this decision was taken to prioritize the safety and integrity of the generators and ensure the safety of personnel conducting the maintenance and repair work.
EDSA assured the public that they will strive to distribute the available power equitably among their customers during this period.
The Authority expressed their apologies for any inconvenience this situation may cause to their valued customers and assured them that the maintenance work will be completed swiftly. Once the maintenance is finished, normal power supply will be restored to residents of Freetown.
EDSA concluded by thanking their customers for their patience and understanding as they work diligently to improve their services.
But for how long that repairs will last???
No time frame was in indicated…
And we are in the dry season, let it not be like last year oohhhh…
This highlights the lack of professionalism within the management team. A competent and serious management would provide a clear timeframe for completing maintenance work. Leaving the public in suspense feels like a breach of trust. They must address this issue and communicate a precise timeline for the maintenance. One can only hope this isn’t an attempt to cover up unpaid dues to the Turkish power ship under the guise of maintenance. If that’s the case, they should be transparent and provide a clear timeframe immediately.

This excuse lacks clarity, has no time frame when the issue is expected to be addressed. Always the same, nothing changes, same unprofessionalism.
Your apologies won’t solve anything, with all this nonsense you keep raising tariffs on people, we spend more money to buy a small unit of topup
