Magistrate Sahr Kekura has explained why he refused to grant bail to popular rapper Alhaji Amadu Bah commonly known as Boss La and decided to remanded him.

According to Magistrate Kekura, what Boss La did amounts to criminal contempt, for if he is ill, he should have sent his surety. He added that he had earlier admonished the rapper to keep the peace, but he did not adhere. Due to this, Magistrate Kekura remanded him and adjourned the matter to the 28th December 2021.

Boss La was before the Court on assault on police contrary to section 39 of the police Act No.7 of 1964, disorderly behavior contrary to section 12 of the public order Act No.46 of 1965 as repealed and replaced by Section 12 (a) of Act No15 of 1973 and Riotous conduct contrary to Section 12(a) of the Public Order Act No.46 of 1965 as repealed and replaced by Act No15 of 1973. When the matter was mentioned in court the accused person and his sureties were absent.

After the rapper was granted bail, sources said that he had not been attending court ever since. During court sitting on 21st December 2021, his lawyer, M. Sesay said his client was ill and was accompanied to the provinces for medication.

He was denied bail after requesting for a bail from Magistrate Kekura which the Magistrate emphasized that, he had advised the rapper earlier to keep the peace. Failing to adhere to the advice made Magistrate Kekura to remanded him and adjourned the matter to the 28th December 2021.
