Leader of the National Grand Coalition (NGC) in Parliament Hon. Kandeh Kolleh Yumkella has called on the government of Sierra Leone led by President Bio, to cut down all travel allocations by 70% and conserve such monies for Agriculture.
Asserting that “Sierra Leone inflation is said to be 29% and rising, food price inflation at 35% (page4) current foreign reserves of the Bank of Sierra Leone at $599 Million, and accompany by stagnation and unemployment” he noted.
The Member of Parliament representing Constituency 062 Kambia District made this contribution last Friday, 2nd December 2022 on the 2023 Budget debate and urged fellow parliamentarians to help the government in a crisis period like this “no one should pretend, but be realistic and act tough, we are in this together” he urged.
Hon. Yumkella was also the National Grand Coalition flag-bearer in the 2018 elections, further calling on everyone to be part of the solution-driven as it needs a reflection to be a vigorous crisis management procedure.
However, he is also vying to represent the party as its Presidential candidate for the second time in the 2023 elections with a tough challenge from the incumbent and the main opposition party, the All People’s Congress, as both parties battle with internal in fighting with the court cases to get their lower-level election on the way and get ready for the general elections slated for the 24th of June 2023.
