Former President of Sierra Leone, Ernest Bai Koroma of Sierra Leone has responded to the current security crisis unfolding in Freetown, expressing deep concern and condemnation for the breaches of state security.
The city is grappling with gunfire and a security breach, leading the Sierra Leonean government to declare a national curfew.
He emphasized, “I’m deeply concerned over the unfolding events in Freetown, and I strongly condemn the grave breaches of state security. I also condemn the tragic loss of Corporal Eddie Conteh, a dedicated military guard assigned to me who was killed on duty at my residence in Freetown. My thoughts are with his family & loved ones. Warrant Officer John Swarray was also taken away from my residence in Freetown. I look forward to his safe return. The path to stability lies in our commitment to democratic values. I urge all stakeholders to prioritize the well-being and stability of our beloved nation.”
Expressing deep concern over the unfolding events, Koroma condemned the grave breaches of state security and mourned the tragic loss of Corporal Eddie Conteh, a dedicated military guard assigned to him. Corporal Conteh lost his life on duty at the residence of the former president in Freetown during the gunfire. Koroma extended his sympathies to the family and loved ones of the fallen security personnel.

To me, this is not a coup but rather a game plan to trap certain people. A coup is planned by senior officers of the military and executed by the junior officers of the military but how can a military officer be arrested for an attempted coup if it was a coup?
Why we sierra Leonean conclude about people like that, can this brings peace in the country? Shame to this nation, Ebk has the civic right to express his gratitude to such incident.

SLPP is a disaster to mama Salone. They’re behind all the unfortunate incidents that are happening in the country just because they’re unable to fulfill their promises to the nation. They wanted to circumvent the issue of the election coup d’etat by dictator Bio and Konneh on the tripartite committee investigation. SLPP full of hate and TRIBALISM against the former president political party officials and supporters. They always see EBK popularity as a threat to Bio’s failure. SLPP doesn’t want to work, wasted six years chasing APC for little or no reason. Maada Bio living in flamboyant lifestyle, traveling fruitless around almost five times a month until he broke down the economy.
