Police at Congo Cross have arrested two men and destroyed a kiosk believed to be used for peddling narcotic drug, kush in west Freetown community of Murray Town.
Congo-Cross Police revealed that they raided the area thereby arresting two individuals identified as Jonathan Santos Peters and Bassie Kuyateh.
The two men are said to be in possession of wraps substance suspected to be narcotic drug, Kush.
The operation is said to be have been headed by Assistant Police Superintendent (ASP), Emmanuel McCormack.
Police said they received a tip off from locals at Trelloney Street that the kiosk was being used by drug dealers and abusers in recent times.
Report indicated that the police have demolished the kiosk while the two men are currently helping with investigations at the Congo-Cross Police CID Department.
Some communities in Freetown have also raised similar concerns with regards the proliferation of narcotic drugs like kush.
Recently, a vigilante group visited communities in the east of the capital sensitising youths on the dangers of the drug.
BBC journalist, Umaru Fofana in July called on authorities to treat the proliferation of the drug as a serious threat. He warned that the nation is currently facing a mental health crisis.
