Lawyer Lansana Dumbuya has been announced as the new Secretary General of Sierra Leone’s opposition All People’s Congress (APC).

Dumbuya defeated two other candidates, Ady Macauley and Suleman Kamara to emerge winner at the party’s national delegates conference ongoing in Makeni.

Ady Macauley who was tipped to win the position polled on 673 votes behind Lansana Dumbuya who got 916 votes. A third contestant, Suleman Kamara polled only 60 votes.

Dumbuya succeeds Dr. Alhaji Foday Usman Yansaneh who previously occupied the post.
