Speaking at the event, President Bio recalled that Sierra Leone got elected on Tuesday June 6th 2023, by an overwhelming majority, to serve a two-year period as non-permanent member of the United Nation’s Security Council, to which he confirmed that, Sierra Leone will serve meaningfully at the Security Council in line with the country’s seven priorities.
Delivering the vote of thanks, Her Excellency the First Lady Fatima Bio expressed appreciation to Sierra Leoneans for choosing peace over war in line with the agenda of His Excellency the President.
She reminded Sierra Leoneans that President Bio will continue to fight for peace and development of Sierra Leone as he did in the battle field and now at the presidency.
She assured all that Sierra Leone will continue to remain peaceful and united as well as calling on everyone to protect that peace we have longed for as was posted on her official Facebook page.
There were only six countries vying for these five positions so what the big deal about it. Many countries refused to contest because u have limited or no powers in the decision making process.
