Lorenzo Gorvie Memorial Secondary School is now home to a new, state-of-the-art Educube Hub, a dedicated space for innovation and learning.
The fully equipped facility was officially handed over to the school by the Ministry of Communication, Technology and Innovation in partnership with UNICEF Sierra Leone, Elcome, and MultiTech.
The school earned the Educube Hub after winning the Educube Debate Competition at the 2025 Sierra Leone Innovates: Digital Government Summit.

The hub provides students with direct access to technology and tools, fostering hands-on learning and encouraging ambition beyond the classroom. It will benefit the school’s over 500 students in SSS1 and SSS2, who are enrolled in academic streams in Economics and Entrepreneurship, Social and Cultural Studies, and Science and Technology.
During the handover ceremony, Minister of Communication, Technology and Innovation, Salima Bah, expressed her gratitude to the community leaders, school administration, students, and partners who supported the initiative.

“Thank you to everyone who continues to champion access, opportunity, and innovation for students in Sierra Leone,” Minister Bah said.
In addition to the hub, the ministry also brought the Careers in STEM School Tour to the school, a session designed to introduce students to real-world opportunities in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Minister Bah emphasized that the tour aims to help students connect their current learning with future possibilities.
