On Tuesday, December 30, 2025, the people of Mambolo Chiefdom turned out in jubilant celebration to welcome home their newly elected Member of Parliament for Constituency 061, Hon. Mohamed Shebora (Gablo) Bangura.

Hon. Bangura assumed office following the passing of the late Hon. Ernest Dura Koroma, under the mandates of Sierra Leone’s Proportional Representation (PR) system. As the next in line, he was entrusted with the responsibility to represent his constituents in Parliament.

In his first official homecoming, Hon. Bangura expressed heartfelt gratitude to the leadership of the All People’s Congress (APC) and the people of Mambolo for their confidence in him. He described his return as both a duty and a privilege, pledging to serve with humility and dedication.

The event featured symbolic gestures of development and community support, including 60 solar panels donated to electrify Mambolo township and 500 school bags distributed to pupils, underscoring his commitment to education and youth empowerment. Residents and schoolchildren warmly received the contributions, reinforcing Hon. Bangura’s promise to uplift the community.

The homecoming drew a distinguished gathering of APC stalwarts from Mambolo and across Kambia District, including Ambassador Hon. Alimamy P. Koroma, Hon. Bai Mahmoud Bangura, Hon. Abdul Karim Kamara (AKK), Chief Whip in Parliament Amadu Santigie (Thamsella) Bangura, and the APC Kambia District Chairman, among others. Their presence was widely seen as a demonstration of unity, solidarity, and collective strength within the APC and the wider community.

The day’s festivities reflected more than a political ceremony; they celebrated heritage, leadership, and community pride. Hon. Bangura’s homecoming reaffirmed values of oneness, gratitude, and service, leaving residents hopeful for a brighter future under his representation.
