The Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education (MBSSE) has announced that all candidates for the November 2024 Private West Africa Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (WASSCE) who have been verified and provided with PIN and Serial numbers should proceed with their registration on the West African Examination Council (WAEC) online portal.

According to the Ministry, the portal reopened today, Tuesday, 17th September 2024, at 12:00 PM, and will remain accessible until Thursday, 19th September 2024, at 12:00 Midnight. The MBSSE urges all eligible candidates, school heads, and parents to ensure that the registration process is completed within this specified timeframe.

The Ministry further emphasized the critical role of the Sierra Leone Teachers Union (SLTU) and the Council of Principals of Secondary Schools (CPSS) in ensuring compliance with this directive. Both bodies have been requested to work closely with school heads to ensure that the necessary steps are taken to facilitate timely registration.

To ensure a smooth process, MBSSE has deployed ministry officials to various centers to monitor the registration progress. School heads are advised to report any technical challenges encountered during the registration process to these officials for immediate support.

The Ministry called on all affected schools to take full advantage of this final window to complete the registration on the WAEC portal, stressing that cooperation is vital for a successful examination process.
