The Ministry of Planning and Economic Development (MoPED) has been joined by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) to roll out stakeholder consultation to validate the ICPD program in the country.
The engagement was to validate the process of implementing the ICPD program of action and Addis Ababa declaration on population and development.
This has also been seen as an opportunity to review the progress and renew the commitments to advance reproductive health and the rights of humans across different sectors.
The UNFPA has also begun a two-day stakeholders’ workshop aimed at validating and reviewing the national cervical cancer policy which is a comprehensive national document that may work to eliminate cancer.
The funding and technical support of the workshop came from China’s south-south cooperation project that is implemented through the UNFPA and the Ministry of Health and Sanitation (MOHS)
