Minister of Trade and Industry, Alpha Ibrahim Sesay, hosted the new Management Team of NP-Sierra Leone at his office in the Youyi Building, Brookfields, Freetown.

The meeting, held on Wednesday, saw the presence of key figures including Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, Madam Fatmata Kargbo, Chief Director Emmanuel Billy Kondoh, and Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Trade, Mr. Magid Sesay.

The primary purpose of the gathering was to formally introduce NP-Sierra Leone’s new management team and reaffirm their commitment to collaborative efforts with the Ministry of Trade and Industry and its subvented agency, the National Petroleum Regulatory Agency (PRA), to drive development and progress within the petroleum sector. The session was opened by Mr. Emmanuel Billy Kondoh, who introduced NP-Sierra Leone staff to Minister Sesay.

Saidu Mansaray, the new CEO of NP-Sierra Leone Limited, emphasized the company’s intent to strengthen existing relationships with the Ministry. Mansaray lauded Deputy Minister Fatmata Kargbo for her insightful speech at the Sierra Leone fuel pricing formula review workshop, where she highlighted the importance of transparency, accountability, and social equity within the petroleum sector. He assured that NP-Sierra Leone’s future operations would align with these principles.

Minister Sesay congratulated the new management team on their appointments and underlined the critical role of the downstream petroleum sector in driving economic activities. He praised NP-Sierra Leone for its consistent performance over the years and noted the positive relationship between the company and the Ministry. The Minister outlined his objectives for the sector, which include implementing transformative policies, leading reforms in the petroleum pricing formula review process, and ensuring the safety and security of the Kissy Fuel Depot/Terminal.

The meeting further cemented the Ministry’s and NP-Sierra Leone’s shared vision for the sector’s advancement. Minister Sesay encouraged the NP-Sierra Leone team to continue their exemplary work and to focus on innovative strategies to enhance the sector’s growth. He reiterated the Ministry’s support in fostering a conducive environment for the petroleum industry to thrive.
