Chief Minister David Moinina Sengeh hosted the US Ambassador and representatives from a major international company with ties to the UK and the US to discuss the progress of the Freetown-Lungi Bridge project.
The meeting comes after Sengeh met the team at the US-Africa Summit held in the United States.
Sengeh expressed his belief that the Lungi Bridge is not just a dream but a real chance for growth and change in Sierra Leone. He said the project is becoming more possible every day.
The Chief Minister also noted the importance of collaboration, mentioning potential partners from China, the UK, the USA, and Nigeria. He emphasized that by working together, they will make the bridge a reality.
The Freetown-Lungi Bridge is seen as a key development that could transform connectivity between Freetown, the capital, and the Lungi area, improving travel and boosting economic opportunities.
Discussions with partners and stakeholders are ongoing as the project progresses.

Hello, my brother Mr Sengeh. What will be the catch of our minerals resources in Sierra Leone. When USA, UK, CHINA etc,etc help to build the Lungi bridge. WOW!!!!. I don’t really think chief minister you have to call those countries or people to discuss domestic developments, if only Sierra Leone is not divided by politics. Nationalize all our minerals resources, sell in two to three years time, the money will pay contractors to build Lungi bridge. I believe in that. When they are building their bridges, Malls, hospitals, etc,etc, which African leaders they will call to discuss. NONE. They are happy you have called them because they will steal the best minerals resources and you can’t do anything, anything about it. I know that. Why Africa, why Sierra Leone. My heart bleeds for the injustice that is placed upon us Africans. I rest my case. God bless Sierra Leone 🇸🇱.
