The Minister of Youth Affairs, Ibrahim Sannoh, has extended his nationwide Ramadan outreach to delegates of the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) in Port Loko District, providing food and financial support to party members during the holy month.
As part of the initiative, the Minister distributed 50kg bags of rice and cash support to delegates, a gesture aimed at assisting members observing Ramadan. The outreach, according to organisers, reflects the values of generosity and compassion commonly associated with the Islamic fasting period.
Speaking during the engagement, Sannoh reflected on his past experience working with the late Sierra Leonean stateswoman Kadi Sesay, who hailed from Port Loko District. He noted that his time serving alongside her helped shape his understanding of leadership and public service.
The Minister said those experiences strengthened his commitment to community engagement and supporting people, particularly during significant occasions such as Ramadan.
Delegates and party supporters present at the gathering welcomed the initiative and expressed appreciation for the Minister’s continued outreach to party members across the country. Some participants noted that such engagements help reinforce unity and solidarity within the party.
The Ramadan outreach forms part of Sannoh’s broader efforts to connect with grassroots supporters while promoting compassion, solidarity, and service within communities.
