The Ministry of Lands, Housing and Country Planning has announced That Thursday, May 11, 2023, is the date for the Land Raffle Draw for Okada and Kekeh Riders.

The Ministry of Lands, Housing and Country Planning has in a notice issued on Monday 3rd May 2023 announced the date for the third edition of the State Land Raffle Initiative, which is exclusively for ‘Okada and Kekeh’ Riders.

The land raffle is a transparent initiative introduced by the State in December 2021 to allocate plots of state land fairly to citizens. The notice reveals that a total of 2,163 Okada and Kekeh Rider applicants participated in the application process.

The Raffle draw is scheduled to take place on Thursday, May 11, at the Forecourt of the Youyi Building in Freetown, starting at 11 am. The notice also highlights that the event will be broadcast live on national television and various social media platforms, including the official Facebook page of the Ministry.

To ensure transparency and fairness, the Ministry has invited representatives from the Anti-Corruption Commission, National Assets Commission, Civil Society Groups, and Media to witness and monitor the process.

All applicants and members of the general public are invited to attend the program and participate in the Raffle Draw, promoting accountability and fairness. The Ministry encourages everyone to participate in this important initiative.

Finally, the notice reminds the public that the first and second rounds of the raffle draw have already allocated a total of 700 plots fairly to citizens.
