The Ministry of Public Administration and Political Affairs (MoPAPA) is conducting a three-day validation exercise for a Master Plan aimed at transforming Sierra Leone’s public sector.

From October 24 to 26, 2024, key stakeholders will review the plan at New Brookfields Hotel.

Minister Amara Kallon highlighted the plan’s objectives, including institutional reforms to enhance productivity, reduce bureaucratic delays, and align with national development goals.

The plan focuses on restructuring human resources by promoting meritocracy, capacity-building, and continuous professional development.

It also integrates information and communications technology (ICT) to improve service delivery, transparency, and accountability.

Decentralization of services is another key focus, empowering local governments to provide essential services. The plan also includes monitoring mechanisms to ensure civil servants’ accountability.

Minister Kallon called the validation a milestone and urged stakeholders to ensure the Master Plan drives reforms and improves governance.

After validation, MoPAPA plans to swiftly implement the strategy, mobilizing resources to modernize the public sector and enhance service delivery.
