Sierra Leone’s Ministry of Planning and Economic Development (MoPED) has launched the Reviewed NGO Policy Regulations and Partnership Mapping Tool in a ceremony attended by government officials, development partners, and NGO representatives.

In Freetown, the revised policy aims to address concerns raised by stakeholders and promote collaboration, accountability, and cooperation among government, development partners, and NGOs/CSOs.

The new regulations seek to facilitate effective coordination and monitoring of NGOs, both national and international, for mutual accountability and maximum benefits for the people of Sierra Leone.

The launch ceremony featured government officials, development partners, and NGO representatives, with Madam Manti Tarawallie, Minister of State, highlighting the importance of collaboration. The revision aimed to address stakeholder concerns and align the framework with international best practices.

Key figures, including Rev. Dr. Jonathan Titus-Williams and Eric Massallay, praised the efforts of the review committee and the policy’s strategic objectives. The policy seeks to enhance coordination and monitoring of NGOs, fostering mutual accountability and benefiting Sierra Leone’s people.

The launch event was attended by various dignitaries, including representatives from IRC, the European Union, CARL, and the Kenema District Council.
