The remains of 13-year-old Peterline Bangura, who was reported missing under mysterious circumstances on New Year’s Day, have been returned by the mortuary attendant responsible for their care.

After a month of uncertainty, the discovery of Peterline’s body has brought some closure to the search that began when she went missing at River Number 2 Beach, located along the Freetown Peninsula in Sierra Leone’s Western Rural District.

The family of the 13-year-old decided to collect samples from the remains to determine if they belonged to their beloved daughter. After conducting tests, the results confirmed that the remains were indeed those of Peterline.

Days later when the family requested an autopsy, they were surprised to learn that the mortuary had already buried their daughter. This raised important questions about who had authorized the burial without their consent.

Following mounting pressure from the family and prominent celebrities, the mortuary has finally presented the deceased. There are plans to conduct an autopsy to determine the true cause of death.

Family sources have expressed their belief that the girl’s tragic incident at River Number 2 Beach was not due to drowning but rather raised concerns of foul play.

The situation is attracting significant public interest, with many individuals expressing their support for the family’s request for an autopsy to be conducted.
