The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) is nearing its deadline for the submission of West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (WASSCE) data, yet many schools in Sierra Leone have failed to comply.
As of now, 90 schools in the country have not uploaded the required data for their candidates, despite the fact that the final submission day is just two days away.
Chief Minister David Moinina Sengeh has issued a stern warning, stating that schools failing to meet the deadline for submitting WASSCE data could face severe penalties.
He announced that the boards and parent-teacher associations (PTAs) of the affected schools will be shut down immediately, and the principals will be suspended. “Impunity must stop,” the minister emphasized, stressing the importance of strict adherence to regulatory standards.
As the deadline approaches, pressure is mounting on teachers and administrators to resolve these ongoing issues. The delay has left many candidates in limbo, raising concerns about potential disruptions to their exam schedules.
WAEC in Nigeria has announced that the portal for the WASSCE will close on February 15, with no further extensions granted, underscoring the seriousness of the situation for Sierra Leonean schools.
Educational officials are urging all remaining institutions to complete their uploads before the deadline to ensure their students’ eligibility for the exam. Failure to comply will not only affect individual students but also damage the school’s reputation and functioning.
With only two days left, time is running out, and it remains uncertain whether these 90 schools will meet the deadline or face the consequences outlined by the Chief Minister.
If only the CASS YEAR ONE has been opened, this issue of uploading will have been simple, many schools have the issue of uploading Cass year one which has been the block for many schools.
We just wish and pray that the year Cass year one porter will be open before the deadline for the B R S PORTAL.
