The Minister of Public Administration and Political Affairs, Amara Kallon, presided over the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Public Service Commission (PSC) and Emerging Public Leaders (EPL) at the PSC headquarters.
The agreement aims to cultivate a new generation of public service professionals in Sierra Leone.
The partnership focuses on developing young, talented leaders for decision-making roles and high-level responsibilities within the government. It will involve identifying diverse professionals committed to good governance and placing them in meaningful public sector positions through the Public Service Fellowship program.
This fellowship will support the in-country recruitment and placement of exceptional young leaders, ensuring representation of Sierra Leone’s diverse cultural and regional makeup. Fellows will receive supervisory support, rigorous training, and mentorship to help them launch and sustain successful public service careers.
Emerging Public Leaders, headquartered in Ghana, has a 15-year track record of supporting public service in several African countries, including Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, and Liberia. Sierra Leone now joins this network, benefiting from EPL’s expertise in developing future public sector leaders.
