Following the controversial border dispute between the two Mano River nations (Sierra Leone and Guinea), the Mano River Union (MRU) has sent delegations to get first-hand information and situational analysis.

The delegation that was led by the Secretary General of the union, Amb. Maria G. Harrison including the MARWOPNET, Makona River Organization, and the National Early Warning Mechanism visited Koindu and Nongowa towns as well as the disputed border region of Yenga.

The visitation according to them was to access the current situation on the ground and strategies for workable solutions for sustainable cohesion between the two countries.
