The Kambia Police Division is currently investigating a suspected murder case of a 51-year-old man reported to the division through the Criminal Investigation Department on 25 September 2025.
Police said that the suspect, Mohamed Alpha Bashiru Fofanah, 33, an employee at the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security in Kambia reported his confrontation with the deceased after he collapsed during an altercation. After the report, Police found the deceased, 51-year-old Brima Moray Kargbo, a Crops Officer attached to the same Ministry lifeless at IDA compound in Kambia.
Police record pointed out that Kargbo died after the confrontation he had with Fofanah.
The police Chief Prosecutor at the Kambia Magistrate Court, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Marchal Dumbuya said that the crime scene was visitied by some polic officers accompanied by the suspect, Mohamed Fofanah.
Reaching the crime scene, the police found Kargbo’s body on the floor motionless in a shared living room. The body was taken to the Kambia Government Hospital mortuary with further post-mortem to be done in Freetown.
The suspect is currently in custody at the Kambia Police Division custody and helping the police with the ongoing investigations.
