For weeks now information has been going around on social media that, citizens should embark on a three days strike starting on the 8th of August 2022, which should be a two days sit at home and on the third day a nationwide peaceful demonstration would be conducted.

Today 8th August 2022 has manifested the information which was going around as majority of business centers are completely closed down with few commercial vehicles plying the streets.

In that light popular social media political analysts have expressed dissatisfaction and blamed the government for the action of the people.

“This is ridiculous! If a fake alarm can from one unscrupulous individual overseas, can put an entire legitimate government on a standstill; and disrupt economic activities, then clearly there’s a huge information gap between the government and our people”.
