The Minister of Western Region has explained the rationale behind the creation of the Ministry of Western Region.

The Minister of the recently established Ministry, Nabeela Tunis, said that the creation of the Ministry of Western Region is to coordinate abd bring about sustainable development in the Western Region.

She stated that Ministry is different from all other Ministries in that it focuses primarily on mobilizing resources and stakeholders to facilitate growth and transparency in the Western Region, adding that the Ministry will play a critical role in bringing together actors to foster development in the Region.

She clarified the point that the newly established Ministry is not a duplicate of any other Ministry or office on the country but one that has its own specific mandate and roles in the governance structure.
