The National Commission for Social Action (NaCSA) has officially unveiled its 2026 theme, “Inclusive Social Action for a Resilient Sierra Leone”, signaling a year focused on community-driven development, inclusivity, and national resilience.
The announcement was made by Commissioner Ernest Ndomahina during a management meeting at NaCSA headquarters in Freetown. He emphasized that the theme would serve as a strategic framework guiding the Commission’s work in 2026, aligning with the government’s Feed Salone Agenda.
“This theme represents our collective vision of a Sierra Leone where every citizen—women, youth, persons with disabilities, and vulnerable communities—has a stake in national development,” Commissioner Ndomahina said. “It is about ensuring that growth is shared and that resilience is built from the ground up.”
Highlighting the importance of inclusivity, he noted that sustainable development cannot be achieved while significant portions of the population remain marginalized. “Inclusion is not charity—it is justice, and it is the foundation of sustainable development,” he added, explaining that NaCSA’s programs will continue to target historically underserved communities through social protection and livelihood initiatives.
Deputy Commissioner Dr. Susan Robert also addressed the gathering, stressing the need for all units to operate efficiently while maintaining rigorous financial and operational accountability. “Development works best when it is owned by the people. Shared responsibility, accountability, and civic engagement are the pillars of social action,” she said, urging staff to strengthen grassroots partnerships nationwide.
Both leaders emphasized that the 2026 theme is not merely a slogan but a call to action. “Each of us has a role to play in making Sierra Leone more inclusive, resilient, and prosperous,” Ndomahina declared. Dr. Robert added, “We must work together with discipline, innovation, and compassion to translate this vision into reality.”
The meeting concluded with an atmosphere of optimism, highlighting NaCSA’s role not only as an implementing agency but also as a mobilizing force for change. The Commission envisions a Sierra Leone that is stronger, fairer, and more united, reflecting the vision consistently championed by President Dr. Julius Maada Bio.
