In a significant two-day event, Mr. Abdulai Caulker, the National Security Coordinator of the Office of National Security (ONS), took the podium as the keynote speaker.

The occasion was the Validation Workshop organized by the ONS for Private Security Companies (PSCs). This workshop convened at the Police Officers Mess in Kingtom.

The central aim of this workshop was to validate a recently crafted regulatory document encompassing all PSCs in Sierra Leone. The primary objectives of this document include enforcing compliance with the country’s licensing requirements for PSCs, enhancing service quality for PSC clients, ensuring that employees receive the minimum wage, fostering collaboration among institutions involved in PSC registration, and more.

The workshop’s audience comprised licensed PSC operatives and their Field Managers, along with state institutions responsible for PSC registration in Sierra Leone. Notable stakeholders attending the event included the Ministry of Employment, Labour, and Social Security, as well as the National Social Security and Insurance Trust (NASSIT).

During his address, Mr. Abdulai Caulker urged participants to meticulously review the PSCs Regulations, emphasizing that the validated document would serve as the guiding framework for regulating PSC operations in Sierra Leone. He also urged PSC owners to adhere to all national laws, including refraining from operating unlicensed Private Security Companies in the country.

The workshop also featured insightful contributions from key figures such as the Director of Operations from the Sierra Leone Police (SLP), the Deputy Commissioner of Labour, and a representative from NASSIT.

Dr. Ahmed A. Sannoh, the Deputy National Security Coordinator of ONS, chaired the opening session of this significant workshop, emphasizing the commitment of Sierra Leone to ensure the integrity and compliance of its private security sector.
