The National Medical Supplies Agency (NMSA) has commenced its first quarter nationwide integrated distribution of essential drugs and medical supplies for 2025, according to a press release issued on March 10, 2025.

This quarterly initiative focuses on delivering vital medications to patients suffering from HIV, Tuberculosis (TB), and Malaria. The distribution will reach 24 government hospitals, select private hospitals, key populations (KPs), and 16 district medical stores. From these district stores, supplies will be further distributed to approximately 1,500 peripheral health units across the country.

The commodities, valued at approximately $3 million, are being provided through the Global Fund’s GC 7 grant, currently being implemented by the Ministry of Health.

NMSA, responsible for the procurement, warehousing, and distribution of medical supplies, conducts these nationwide distributions quarterly as part of the government’s efforts to enhance healthcare delivery. This current supply is intended to serve government facilities for a period of four months.

The Ministry of Health has issued a strong warning to the public that these drugs and medical supplies are strictly NOT for sale. Anyone found selling these commodities will face severe legal consequences.
