The Managing Director of the National Medical Supplies Agency (NMSA), Madam Jatu Abdulai, on Tuesday represented Sierra Leone at the Global Health Supply Chain Summit held in Kigali, Rwanda.

This year’s summit was hosted under the theme “Powering Self Reliance: Value Chains that Deliver, Sustain, and Thrive.”

Madam Abdulai featured as a panelist in a high-level discussion on “Securing Access to Quality Maternal Health,” where experts examined the challenges and opportunities in ensuring reliable access to maternal health commodities across low-and middle-income countries.

The summit brought together government representatives, global health partners, and industry leaders to explore innovative approaches that can transform healthcare supply chains. The collective goal was to develop strategies that guarantee consistent delivery of health commodities and accelerate progress toward universal health coverage.

In her presentation, the NMSA Managing Director highlighted the significant progress Sierra Leone has made in strengthening its health supply chain systems. She underscored the role of procurement as a strategic reform tool to expand access to essential medicines, particularly for maternal, neonatal, and child health.

Madam Abdulai’s participation reaffirmed Sierra Leone’s ongoing commitment to improving healthcare delivery and ensuring that vital health commodities reach the people who need them most.
