The Sierra Leone Police Force has taken the decision to send Assistant Inspector General (AIG) Mr. Francis M. Tower, the Nort West regional commander on an indefinite leave.

This action follows allegations that AIG Tower allowed protesters in Port Loko to demonstrate on Monday, September 11th, under the protection of police forces.

In a transfer order issued promptly, AIG Tower’s leave was enacted with immediate effect.

Reports from Port Loko indicate that protesters took to the streets on the aforementioned date with security forces visibly present alongside them. The presence of the police was intended to maintain order and prevent any potential escalations or disturbances during the demonstration.
